Guide to Composing your own song for your instrument!

1.  Use your book a guidance.  Make sure you have a properly written clef sign.

3.  Make sure that you add appropriate sharps or flats in front of the notes or in a key signature (use your book as reference)

2.  Make sure that when you write half, quarter or eighth notes, you draw the stems in the correct direction.

4.  Be clear and precise. Nobody wants to read a sloppy composition. Take pride in the details!

5.  Make sure the composition is playable to you.  Keep editing it until it sounds good and you are happy with it. You should have anywhere from 8 to 16 measures total.
